Christmas Projects, 2008

LOCAL :  Lancaster Manor resident gifts of lotions, perfumes, aftershave, batteries, and socks were collected.  Sue Rutledge will deliver them this week.

INTERNATIONAL :  Heifer Project animal purchases.  A llama, goat, pig, flocks of chickens, and hives of bees were selected for purchase by the youth.  This year donations totaled $540.  http://www.heiferproject.org

DENOMINATIONAL :  Relief buckets.  $450 in cash was given Sunday night to help purchase relief Disaster Buckets.  http://www.churchworldservice.org

Blanket delivery to Clinton families

LOCAL:  53 BLANKETS were delivered to Clinton Elementary for emergency needs of their children and families.

DISASTER RELIEF --
Charlie Horner left on Thursday, Sept. 11, to work with Red Cross disaster and recovery services in Fort Worth, Texas.  He returned Sat., Oct. 4 after helping to feed and shelter people affected by Hurricane Ike.  Assigned to help in Baytown, TX he helped feed 70,000 people a day!  Please keep Charlie, his co-workers, and all those they will assist in your prayers.

 

During the month of January 2009, Sigrid and Charlie Horner will be volunteering to help Brethren Disaster Service in Indiana.  They will be helping rebuild housing damaged during flooding.

Community CROPS held workshops in the Church Kitchen on August 9 and August 16, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.  -- a “Canning Workshop” and a “Making an Inoculated Medicinal Tea called Kom Bucha Workshop.”
